Cold Range
A range protocol where firearms are unloaded and cased or holstered between strings.
On a cold range, no loaded firearms are present except when the shooter is on the line being supervised by a range officer. Most training classes and matches operate this way. Compare to a hot range, where shooters carry loaded, holstered firearms throughout the relay.
