Extractor
A claw that pulls the spent case out of the chamber after firing.
The extractor is a small hook on the bolt or slide that grips the rim of a cartridge case. As the bolt or slide moves rearward, the extractor pulls the case out of the chamber. The ejector then kicks it clear of the firearm.
