Hangfire
A perceptible delay between trigger pull and discharge.
A hangfire is when the trigger is pulled, the primer is struck, but the powder ignites slowly — milliseconds to seconds late. After any “click” without a “bang,” keep the muzzle pointed downrange and wait at least 30 seconds before opening the action: the round may still fire while extraction is in progress, with disastrous results.
