Safe Direction
A direction in which an unintentional discharge would not cause harm or property damage.
A safe direction is one where, if the firearm fired right now, no person would be hit and no property destroyed. At a range, that’s the berm. Indoors, it’s wherever bullets will be safely stopped (a loaded ballistic safe, a thick exterior wall facing nothing). The shooter is responsible for identifying a safe direction before handling any firearm.
