Slide
The reciprocating top half of a semi-automatic pistol that cycles the action.
The slide sits on top of a semi-auto pistol’s frame. When fired, it travels rearward under recoil/gas, ejecting the spent case and stripping a fresh round from the magazine on its return. The slide also typically carries the rear sight, the firing pin, and the breech face.
