Trigger Reset
The forward release of the trigger after firing to the point where it can be pressed again.
Trigger reset is the position the trigger returns to after firing where the sear re-engages, ready for the next shot. On many modern pistols (Glock, M&P) the reset is well short of the trigger’s full forward travel — riding the reset (releasing only to the reset point, not all the way out) speeds up follow-up shots.
